[ The rain disappears in the wee hours of the morning, leaving only a few dark clouds in the sky until an hour or two after dawn, later followed by bright blue skies for the rest of the crisp October day. On the nightstand appears to be a note.
Looking around further, all the coins on the island seem to have disappeared - even any hidden stockpiles. The villagers don't seem to be interested in coins either - only goats, rubies, and other trinkets they specifically ask for. They've gotten a lot pickier about what they'll accept for their wares.
Also, there are a string of once-uninhabited houses in each district which seem to have suddenly fixed themselves overnight. They seem much brighter, lights on as if waiting for their residents to return home. ]
