[Because of the colder days she's managed to go into town and barter her skills for a spell to warm the apartment suits. For those of you living with her Pepper has been working on taking apart the compact to try and see how it works and if there's any way they can use it to their advantage. Currently she's sitting at a table in the common room (A place she's been working on making more hospitable and less ... purple) in a pair of jeans and a sweater that hangs off one of her shoulders with her hair up. She's examining the compact even as it turns on while taken apart. No, she hasn't noticed it yet.]

How can it work without any internal power source?
