Everything is pitch black but there are different voices and pain-filled screams are still heard.
"HOW DID THEY KNOW WE WERE ATTACKING?"
"I-..IT'S TOO MUCH--"
"I CAN'T MOVE- HELP ME--"
Finally, the sound of thunder and everything is silent except for soft sobs. The darkness becomes clearer but the world that is now seen is not a pleasant one.
Not a single glimmer of sunlight. The land is looks rather barren even though the rain is coming down in torrents and thunder rumbles in the distance again. A familiar, busty red head is seen close by as she kneels in front of a broken down robot that looks aged and rusty. The once majestic Gurren Lagaan is in shambles. Near by, there are other broken down robots that are just as worn and torn. Along with these robots, there are a number of bodies that lay on the ground, some adults and many children. She could still hear their voices, Yoko knew each one very well. They all remain motionless as Yoko stands up slowly.
She is shaking violently, tears coursing down her cheeks and there is blood splattered across her face. Yoko grips a sniper rifle in one hand and in the other is a necklace with a drill dangling and glinting when lightning strikes. Yoko remains unfazed by the loud clap. How could she be so stupid- Yoko knew the signs, she had all the artillery, but she still failed.
"I couldn't do it.....
I was too late.
I was too late...
WHY- WHY DID YOU BELIEVE IN ME"
Yoko screams the last bit, her voice raw and shrilling out the last word. She grips her chest as she falls back to her knees.]
