[The video feed cuts on to reveal a very confused-looking young man just barely out of his teens wearing a rather ornate set of heavily-decorated Aztec clothes, including a heavily feathered headdress.]
Okay, whatever's going on...I'm pretty sure I never signed up to replace...
[Ronnie looks at the paper again and frowns because as far as he can tell someone just decided to spill Scrabble tiles everywhere and use that to make up a name. Mxyzptlk wasn't even that bad in comparison...]
Hui...hr...hooo...heetz?...heetzilla?...uh...that.
[He jabs at the name on the paper by way of explanation. "Huitzilopochtli" is a mouthful, and it is clear he will likely fail forever at pronouncing it.]
And if there's anyone else out there, don't worry--I'm pretty sure the Justice League's going to be along to rescue us real soon. Weirdo mass kidnappings like this are bound to get their attention.

[ If she had sunglasses on, this would be the point where she tips them down the bridge of her nose. ]
You got a sun god for a denizen. Lucky you!
Re: [video]
What did you get, anyway?
I was given the role of Scheherazade, this amazing woman who has to read story after story for a thousand nights. [ She stretches her arms, neck craning, mouth widening, letting out a tired yawn. ] She slept during the day during those thousand nights.
Re: [video]
[Overconfidence? What overconfidence? He looks a bit concerned at that yawn.]
That's pretty cool. But...if we're getting powers and things from these people, is that screwing with your sleep schedule?
[ She huffs, grumbling. ] Yes. It is. That matched with my usual insomnia makes getting any sleep a nightmare here.
Re: [video]
[Pause.]
And remembered everything?
[Yep, that sure does break through that show of brash overconfidence he was putting on.
But at the sleeping problem, he looks thoughtful.]
You know, I think I remember the chemical formula for sleeping pills...
[He makes a face.]
If my powers come back and all.
[And if she's willing to try sleeping pills that he has remembered the chemical composition of without Professor Stein's help because surely nothing could go wrong with that.]
[ Smirk. ]
And we need a fire extinguisher on-hand with you around.
[ A thoughtful expression, but then, shake of her head. ]
No. It's too dangerous. There is a chance that my powers may slowly return on the Island and if I have sleeping medication inside me -- especially untested twenty-first century medication -- then it's a potential hazard to my health.
[This was a thing that he had not thought to be possible in his long and storied history of zoning out during the more mundane aspects of League meetings and things. And oh, now he's looking embarrassed.]
Hey, I know the chemical composition of flame retardant like the back of my hand, at least...
[He frowns.]
What are your powers, anyway? You seem familiar enough with mine...
[ She scoffs, amused. ]
That'll come in handy.
[ She folds her arms against her chest. ]
Precognition. I foresee random events in the future.
Re: [video]
[Have an awkward laugh.]
Hey, I'm not going to lie. It's come in handy a lot.
[He looks interested at that.]
How far in the future do you usually see?
[ Chuckles. ]
Apparently we can always Imagineer fire retardant but I wouldn't mind a more corporeal form lying around just in case.
[ She reclines back into her pillows. ]
Depends. Asleep or awake.
Imagineer it? What's that?
[He's interested now, both in that new word and her powers.]
So, if you're sleeping, you see different things than if you're awake? Farther into the future or something?
[ That's actually a good question. ]
Pretty smart. When I sleep, the visions are bigger, yes, but they can also be confusing and nightmare-fuel. I've woken up screaming a couple times already.
[He seems pleased at being called smart, because that doesn't happen a whole lot with him. He does, however, wince at the mention of nightmare fuel.]
That bad? I guess you try to stop the stuff you see when it gets like thet from happening, huh?
[ Wince is right. ]
I can't do that. Once a vision comes, I can't stop it.
[A long pause. Does he really want to ask what he's about to ask? He's not going to think it through too hard.]
So what about me? How am I remembered?
[Yeah, still wincing at that.]
Man, that sucks. So you just have to ride it out? What happens when they're over?
[ Her lips curve in a wry albeit smug little grin. ]
I wake up, usually next to my husband, and he's already holding me in his arms and reassuring me in silence that he's there for me and that I'm not alone in this.
Yeah, besides that?
[His eyebrows shoot up in obvious surprise, and what comes out of his mouth next isn't exactly the most well-spoken reaction.]
You're married?
I don't think you have anything to worry about. You are written as a nice young hero who has the same probability for mistake as all the other heroes.
[ She blinks at his surprise, then her lips curve in a wide grin. ]
I am! [ She salutes. ] My husband's codename is Brainiac 5.
Re: [video]
[He grins before what she says next hits and throws him for a loop.]
Brainiac?!
[Not like he means any offense there. It's more of a knee-jerk reaction.]
[ She laughs. ]
The fifth. He's not bent on locking the galaxy up in jars, don't you worry.
Re: [video]
[He still looks and sounds a little confused.]
The fifth? So he just decided not to go into the family business, then?
[ Nura just smiles and shrugs her shoulders. Nothing she hasn't heard before. ]
If you mean bottling worlds, no, he doesn't. He actually liberated an entire race and built them a little world where they could live, free and no longer slaves.
[Ronnie seems to have calmed down a bit.]
Really? That's pretty awesome. Definitely not like the Brainiac I know.
[ Oh good. ]
Querl actually grew up in a culture where they would have encouraged the bottling streak.
