007 ⚜ Video ⚜ An apology
[Francis comes on the communicators, a healthy glow on his cheeks that had been missing for the past few weeks - And despite all the scrapes and bags under his eyes from their ordeal, he looks more like he's supposed to. The only thing that looks completely unnatural is the frown Francis has on his face.]
Mesdames et messieurs... I feel I must apologize. I had no idea my plan would fail, and that all of us would be placed through... such horrid things.
[He pauses, looking guilty as he sort of shifts around.]
I apologize. For everything. For the boat, for our capture, for all the suffering you endured... désolé.
[Francis slowly reaches over to his nightstand, and takes what looks like a photograph into his hands. He stares down at it for a moment, before he sighs and looks back up.]
Anyone who has had their clothes torn or ruined because of this - I will fix them. If I cannot fix them, I will replace them myself. That is all.
[And he cuts off the feed.]

[He thinks for a moment, stroking the scruff on his chin, before he realizes and snaps his fingers.] Ah, you helped build the boat, non? I was making materials, so we did not really see each other, mais...
Well, anyway, I am Francis.
[He does sort of cringe at his use of French. But, if Renne is having such a hard time with English, it is expected.] Non non non, it is not "mahn-sewer", it is "monsieur". "Mon"-"sieur". [He repeats it to help Renne learn it properly.]
I sound sad because... well, I suppose I am sad myself.

[He kind of grins a little, proud of the fact he had learned some shipwright skill -- something Harold had never taught him. The introduction has his smile brighten a little. Meeting new people without betrayal or getting shot at is quite nice.]

[He's trying, he really is. It does however amuse him that it's French -- Those times Archie had spoken of French folk had not been entirely flattering but perhaps there'd been a difference then between soldier and civilian.]

[He doesn't even have to think about it - he simply launches into an explanation.] Magnifique, you are doing well. Monsieur, it means in my language, a male person. Mademoiselle is a female. It is a polite term for addressing someone.
[There is no difference between soldier and civilian, as far as Francis is concerned. He embodies both at the same time.]

[Oh, he's trying. His face turns a shade of cyan; yes, Renne knows his skill with Human language is mediocre at best, laughably terrible at worst. But as for him being either male or female, that....isn't explained so easily. But he'll try.]

[Francis has to think about that for another minute.] Erm, non, we... do not exactly... there is "intersexuel", mais, this is a word borrowed from English, "intersex", meaning, possessing both male and female qualities. In my tongue we would say it this way - a person possessing qualities of both sexes.
For neither male nor female, nor both... mm... androgynous may be the best term. "Androgyne" in French. I am sorry for making assumptions on your gender, Renne. [He's still pronouncing Renne's name in the French way, more like René.]
