also seriously considering throwing the sword (rapier, not that he knows a coddamn thing about swords) at the door as a warning when Karkat no doubt barges in without knocking. Rude. But instead he makes every effort to hide the fact that maybe he'd been trying it on for size, WITHOUT PRANCING what is that even that is slander sir Eridan will not stand for it!]

[Karkat knows damn well what Eridan is doing; he could picture it perfectly if he really wanted to (he doesn't). But at that last message, he gets up, barrels out of his bedroom and heads straight for Eridan's, next door.

And of course, he barges in without knocking. ]

[He's completely about to respond with something witty and absolutely scathing (using his rapier wit), but before he can even formulate a response to the importance of shoes, Karkat is barging in without knocking.

Again, rude.

Thankfully, he isn't lobbing his new weapon at Karkat's face, but unfortunately for him, he does actually have the sheath hooked onto his belt and does have the sword out. He looks, for the most part, to be handling it like a complete moron, but at least he isn't posing or prancing. Not that he would ever do that to begin with.]

[Karkat gapes for a moment, looking as though he can't quite handle what he has stumbled upon. And then he laughs, raucously so, eyes wide like he hadn't really been expecting Eridan to be acting like a jackass.

He laughs and laughs until he manages to catch his breath, blinks rapidly because fuck no- he can't do the laugh cry thing, thank you very much.]

[Eridan is immediately defensive, which isn't a surprise considering he's being laughed at, which is highblood code for someone is obviously being a tremendous jackass and it's definitely not him in any way shape or form, no sir.

He immediately slides the rapier back into its sheath - and this is something he has down, which shows you just how much he actually practiced drawing it (which is to say, a lot) - and scowls so hard he's going to break his face.]

[Karkat's face twists into a scowl almost immediately. It's defensive in ways that Karkat has perfected over the years; it screams shut the fuck up you dick and don't be such a drama queen all at once.

He squares his shoulders; tenses up and then folds his arms over his chest in a gesture that is in no way sulking (read: it is) and then pointedly fixes his eyes on the rapier instead of Eridan's face. ]

[He pauses for a moment. The seconds go by in his head (tick tock tick to-), before he meets Eridan's gaze again and he sneers. ]
