[Thankfully, this public service announcement isn't as fraught and panicky as the last one. There's no preface needed, just a moment for Waver to remember to put a filter on the message so that Ryuunoske cannot access it, and he addresses the screen.]

I'm issuing this as a bit of information for those new and reminder for those old that I am still attempting to collect and create a history of this place. There's been significant work done, so if anyone is interested in accessing it - or in reviewing mine and my assistant's notes for accuracy - it is open.

In addition, and more pertinently, I would like to add another facet to this archive: recording everyone's personal histories. Given the plans in mind for all of us, I figure that having written biographies to combat memory loss is a boon, and I can ensure limited access to those files. This can be achieved by either you speaking to me of past experiences and me writing them down, or walking over a draft to my current residence.

Finally, and this I realize is a loaded subject: in relation to creating a history of this place. We were recently shown the deaths of the previous inhabitants. I should like to know how yours died, in as much detail as possible, if you feel comfortable giving the information.

My cousin's diary. She died when I was just a little kid, but she was a witch. Some of her magic is described in there, so it does have some practical value aside from just being important to me in general.

Well, that is useful. You haven't gotten the ability to perform magic as well back, have you?

Not as far as I know. I haven't tried a whole lot yet though since my bodyguard would undoubtedly make fun of me for it. I'd never heard the end of it.

--really, he'd make fun of you for the attempt?

Oh, I'm entirely sure. [ This is something she doesn't doubt at all about the guy. :| ] He always laughs at me whenever I start talking about magic or witches and then tells me to get out of my little fantasy world.

Forgive me if I prove ignorant but if he's been your bodyguard for however long, then he's aware of your skills and has seen them in action, yes?

.. Ah, it has a little to do with the way magic works in my world. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be able to see me using it even if he did look. His disbelief in magic is too strong.

[gordianknots]

[totally fightin' the urge to chinhands here] Really?

Yeah, really. I met a witch before and talked to her right in front of him, but he didn't hear or see any of it. You could ask him and he'd just laugh and say it's a story I made up.

[ catnip or no catnip you don't have to make fun of them!! ]

Don't look at me like that, I'm not the one who thought it up. It's just the way it is.

[He's...not! Or at least he doesn't think he is, he thinks it's fascinating if not a bit odd.]

Well, that's one way of keeping muggles from seeing magic.

It's fine. I guess having a little bit of small talk every now and then isn't entirely terrible.

No, not really. Now, was this all for small talk, or was there business too? Not that I mind either way

.. Ah, right. I saw my denizen die just like everyone else.

They died together. Hansel and Gretel, that is.

[ good thing that ange is so incredibly deadpan that she even just goes along with morbid stuff. ]

Thankfully not. I'd hate it if the Rulers were planning the same end for me.

So what happened instead?

They were trying to run together, but they got seperated. Hansel was killed by the Rulers' creatures, and when Gretel later found his body and broke down crying while half lying on it, they came to kill her there as well, so in the end they were lying there dead together.

[ ... ] It's disgusting. Them doing something like that to siblings..

[gordianknots]

It doesn't sound too out of line with their usual behaviour but -- yes, it is disgusting.

[entreats]

I haven't seen them doing anything as low as using family to make matters worse just yet. Or.. well, not until that moment.

Let's hope you didn't just give them an idea. I imagine it's harder here because not everyone has family show up--

[entreats]

Yeah, I don't think there's anyone with family around at all. At least, not that I've heard of. [ Not even her own family has shown up, huh? Well, Amakusa is here, but he's not her family. ]

[gordianknots]

I think you've illustrated why it's better off remaining that way. [he sighs, rubs his temple slowly] I think friends are bad enough here, at times. Adds an even worse touch to the idea of losing memories when the people a part of them are right there.

[entreats]

... Well, it's nothing that can be helped.

[ Oddly defeatist, even for her standards. But it's more since she's mentally mulling over the fact that he said friends are bad enough here.. and she's even dating Amakusa.. ah. ]
