[ After three days, he finally decides to emerge from relative obscurity and make a public post. The first thing anyone who knows him will notice is that his hair is no longer black. In fact, it's-- ]

Brown.

[ He says the word despondently into his communicator. There's a dramatic sigh and then he rests his forehead on the table, giving everyone watching a very good few of his newly-coloured hair while he moans: ]

Why brown... It's so dull...

[ Yeah, Natsuno prefers not showing his face by now. It embarasses him too much, even if the changes aren't too big - it's just that they're too personal. ]

Even if they do, we'll just force them to change us back before we leave. One way or another.

[waterformybath]

I don't think that will work when they work so hard to keep us here and punish us with these changes when we try to leave. I imagine they'd refuse to change us back simply out of spite.

[deceases]

Yeah, I didn't say they'd be willing to do it. [ Because.. he knows the type of people these Rulers are, if his guess is right, and they wouldn't want to change them back. He's sure of that. ]

But I don't think we'll be able to escape without defeating them somehow first. So then forcing them would be easy.

[waterformybath]

Which brings us to the question of how we can defeat them...

[ Howl sighs; he's not overly fond of the idea given the last time they did try to fight, everyone was overwhelmed. ]

[deceases]

If we could answer that, then we would be gone already. [ aka it's the question everyone's thinking about, huh..? ] It's difficult if they have all those weird magic tricks or whatever exactly it is they use.

[waterformybath]

And it appears they're unpredictable in giving us back our abilities, so even if we wanted to mount any sort of reasonable resistance against them, it would take years.

[deceases]

[ .. Huh. He doesn't have any special abilities, but if this person is putting so much emphasis on them, it makes him curious.. ]

Do you have those? Any kind of special abilities, that is.

[waterformybath]

I'm a wizard. Of course I do!

[ He says this like it's the most obvious thing in the world and that whoever this person is should have known just be looking. ]

[deceases]

[ .....

Oh, of course. A wizard. Totally normal. Except not at all. ]

You're not joking around, are you?

[waterformybath]

Why would I joke about my own abilities?

[ He's honestly curious. ]

[deceases]

Because wizards don't exist. Not where I come from, at least.

[ yet another weird case of some of the worlds here being really.. well, weird, huh? ]

[waterformybath]

I can show you a bit of magic if you like.

[ He on the other hand can't believe that there are worlds where wizards don't exist. ]

[deceases]

[ .. Magic? And he can use it here? Now this really has his attention. ]

Sure. I'm waiting. [ But unlike his usual indifference, it's clear that he's more focused now. ]

[waterformybath]

[ Howl looks around for something non-fragile to use and decides upon his pen. Setting it in front of him, between himself and the compact, he concentrates and twirls his finger around in a loose spiral. The pen rattles on the desk, then one side lifts up and begins to rotate, following the wizard's finger. ]

[deceases]

[ .. Seriously, levitation? He's not too surprised to see magic in a place like this, but it's already a little more interesting when it's someone who's not from this place to begin with is using it. ]

Didn't you ever think about using that against the people keeping us here?

[waterformybath]

[ It's not really levitation, but Howl can understand why it looks that way to someone unused to magic. The pen falls back on to the table and the wizard catches it before it can fall off completely. ]

My magic isn't very strong. Even at my best, I couldn't do what they've been doing; I can't transport men or women from other worlds and bring them to mine.

[deceases]

It's still better than nothing. [ But it's not like he ever did really have special powers either way, huh? ] Being powerless in a place like this just sucks.

[waterformybath]

I'm sorry that you feel that way.

[ But there's sadly not much he can do about it. ]

If I could do something to help, I would.

[deceases]

I'll just find my own way to do things. [ Because even if there's a lot of negative things Natsuno is, being defeatist certainly isn't one of them. ]

Even if I don't have magic or anything like that, I still won't give in to them that easily.
